• Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 is the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile-powered devices. ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows®-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box.

  Faster file transfer speed and photo sync via Outlook are only available for Windows Mobile 5.0 powered devices.
  Remote PC Sync (via WiFi or LAN) has been removed due to Enterprise customer feedback around security issues.
  Customers using Microsoft Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 with devices running the Messaging and Security Feature Pack for Windows Mobile 5.0 will benefit from the following feature enhancements included in ActiveSync 4.5: Direct Push Technology, local device wipe, and certificate powered authentication to Microsoft Exchange.
  Microsoft® Outlook® 2000 is not supported by ActiveSync 4.5. It is highly recommended that users upgrade to Microsoft® Outlook® 2003 messaging and collaboration client.
  Conversion of database files for use on a mobile device is not supported by ActiveSync 4.5. On previous versions, this feature was limited to devices running Windows Mobile software for Pocket PC 2003 and earlier.
  Conversion of font files for use on a mobile device is not supported by ActiveSync 4.5. On previous versions, this feature was limited to devices running Windows Mobile software for Pocket PC 2003 and earlier.
  *Connectivity and synchronization may require separately purchased equipment and/or wireless products (e.g., WiFi card, network software, server hardware, and/or redirector software). Service plans are required for Internet, WiFi and phone access. Features and performance may vary by service provider and are subject to network limitations. See device manufacturer, service provider and/or corporate IT department for details.

Love this product. Had no problems for YEARS with my Win7 & previous PC platforms syncing with older Verizon Qualcomm Smartphone.

Upgraded PC to Win 8.1 and CANNOT sync smartphone using ActiveSync. There is not even a version of ActiveSync for the 8.1 platform.

Don"t like the Cloud for storing some sensitive information, so haven"t upgraded my phone yet & prefer ActiveSync directly with my PC. Wish it worked on 8.1.
Not sure if there"s a work-around way to sync my Outlook calendar & contacts (especially) with my new PC. FRUSTRATED!!! Luckily I still have my older PC and luckily I save my Outlook files on an external drive so that I can unplug from the new machine & plug into the older machine, so at least I can sync my Outlook at least once a week (whereas I used to sync it CONSTANTLY!) If there"s a workaround for the my Dell 8.1 machine, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! Thanks.

Looked good at first, but only if you use a OS older than Vista

It won"t work on systems that use Vista or newer

Who doesn"t use atleast Vista by now? Vista, Windows8, etc all not supported by Microsoft? Upon installing you will get a message that says to go to Windows Mobile Media for another solution. Hope this helps!

Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center replaces ActiveSync for Windows Vista.

Windows Mobile Device Center offers device management and data synchronization between a Windows Mobile-based device and a computer.

For Windows XP or earlier operating systems, you must use Microsoft ActiveSync.

Easy to install. The program gives easy to understand opening window that allows you to sync in either direction between cell and pc. It also gives me the option to sync with either internal or external memory. Tranfer rate is quick and easy to locate.

Of the three different sync programs I have used over the last eight years this one is the best. I do not have to search for the memory area in the cell to add or remove information. Every thing is right in front of me when I open the program.

Sychs my HP Jornado just fine.

None at this time.

The program works just fine, but isn"t it SAD that I had to buy a 12 y/o pocket PC, because my $350.00 2011 tablet, does not have an address book and I cannot seem to locate such a rudimentary application for that purpose.

Sometime allow a sync

Most of the time cannot connect, and even after reboots problem persists. Not compatible with Avira Antivirus....difficult to parametrize at least!

Works well, when it works.

Incredible unreliable program.

Sometimes (sometimes!) works in an instant. However, most of the time it takes hours to connect suddenly to the desktop pc. Can waist valuable unproductive time, when trying to synchronize fast during the day.
I tried many firewall configurations, yet, this annoying, but essential program seems to have a will of its own.
Thus, i recommend to use this at the end of the working day. If lucky, it gets the job done.

Works well, when it works

Hangs up, takes 50% of CPU,

starts multiple killnt.exe.... go to task manager and kill them all , it will restart them but, just keep killing them till its not running at all. also keep connections disabled except while actually in use, or it won"t release the port its used

no pro as it is NOT working

everything AGAINST - Microsoft is a shitty company that releases software that is not compatible with their own products

I got cellular with windows I got PC with windows i got active Sync - pity it is not doing ANYTHING apart cousing "dangerous/serious" damage to system (blue screen- closure, etc). Now tell me - in what way an ordinary consumer, who has no doctorate in informatics can deal with microsoft products? Their help and checking for problems is useless. APART this problem with ActiveSync, I found something really "FUNNY" - my NEW notebook with XP is NOT transmitting problems to Microsoft (of course some BUG), I"m NOT able to register windows, the operating system has inside Bluetoothe support (I used it on my old PC), but it is partially BLOCKED on the notebook, so i"m not able to use microsoft software but the third party.... REALLY the leading company of the XXIst century.... WHY this company still exists???

It"s really nice to be able to use Microsoft Word and Exel on the Pocket PC and Desktop both and update with the Pocket PC or the Desktop and transfer between the two.

I don"t really have any cons.

It is a great program and very useful. I use it all the time.
